I need support for:

Services

At Wonderly, I work with people who want to create lasting change in how they relate to themselves and to those around them. My approach is designed for individuals who have the resilience and motivation to look inward, and the curiosity to explore and re-evaluate their own behavioural patterns. You’ll find a safe, supportive space here — somewhere you can feel truly heard, seen, and understood. Together, we’ll explore the needs that lie beneath your feelings and behaviour, with an awareness of how relationships and environments shape your experiences. From that place of connection, we’ll work towards recovery and growth at a pace that feels right for you.

Support at Wonderly may include:

  • Conversations to foster insight, acceptance and self-compassion
  • Creating a personal plan to recognise early signs of (dis)stress
  • Learning strategies to manage stress or sensory overload
  • Support in maintaining energy balance, organisation, and structure
  • Guidance in making decisions and setting meaningful goals
  • Support during key transitions, such as school, university, or work
  • Liaising with key people in the home, educational or work environment

I also offer diagnostic assessments for autism and/or ADHD, in collaboration with a BIG-registered GZ psychologist. This ensures that the results are recognised by other professionals. While diagnoses such as autism or ADHD can sometimes be linked to stigma or misconceptions, an assessment can bring clarity and provide a strong foundation for further support. Throughout the process — and beyond — there is space for psychoeducation and for recognising and embracing the strengths that come with neurodivergence.

For parents seeking support for their child, I work alongside them to advocate for their child’s needs and to connect with key people in the child’s environment, such as teachers, school support staff, and other involved professionals. The focus is on building shared understanding and creating conditions in which the child can develop and thrive.

For students and professionals, I collaborate with relevant people in educational or work settings to explore and implement adjustments that support wellbeing, learning, and sustainable functioning.

Reviews

We met Lydia when our teenage daughter wanted an assessment to understand her differences. Lydia guided the process with great care and expertise, leading to a dual diagnosis of ADHD and autism. Her professional and lived experience gave us clear answers, practical advice, and useful tools. Even now, she’s always willing to help — with a book, a podcast, or a thoughtful answer.

I used to really struggle with meltdowns and felt sceptical about trying again after past treatments. With Lydia, I finally had a positive experience — she helped me spot the early signs, prevent meltdowns, and see my emotions differently. I’d recommend her to anyone who’s neurodivergent.

Just, 18

Just has made such great progress since starting with you — it gives us real confidence for the future. Thank you!

Mother of Just, 18

I didn’t like seeing a psychologist in the past, but with Lydia it was different. She really helped me, and I know I can call her if things get tough — that gives me peace of mind.

Job, 15

Lydia’s warm, open approach really helped lighten my load. There’s still work to do, but now it feels manageable. If you want a psychologist who feels easy to talk to, I’d recommend her.

Carolien, mother of Job, 15

Lydia connected with our daughter where others couldn’t. We understand her better now, and she’s more open with us — she’s on her way to a calmer, more fulfilling life.

Veronica, mother of Aileen, 18

Individual support

When you’re stuck feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or as though nothing you do makes a difference, Wonderly offers an opportunity to understand yourself better. Not by pushing harder to “get better,” but by learning to see your thoughts and feelings in a different light. Through curiosity, humour, and honest conversation, we explore how you can make space for yourself — even when life feels tough. Less fighting, more living. No quick fixes, but small, meaningful steps that create change: at home, at school, at work, and most importantly, in your own mind and heart.

No two people, families, or situations are the same. Often, support is needed across several areas of life — practical, social, and emotional. My approach is both systemic and solution-focused, looking at the interaction between you and your environment — at home, in school, at work, or in other important relationships — and working towards practical, achievable goals. Alongside individual sessions, Wonderly also offers couples therapy, parenting support, and school-based guidance. Together, we identify the contexts where the most progress can be made.

For parents

When a child or teenager is having a hard time — whether that’s with friends, at school, or within themselves — it affects the whole family. You might feel powerless, guilty, worn out, or as though you’re always scrambling to catch up. Children thrive in connection with the people around them, and lasting change happens when that whole circle of support is involved. By strengthening the way parents and caregivers work together, we can help your child grow and flourish.

At Wonderly, I work with parents who are willing to reflect on their own responses with curiosity — not to aim for perfection, but to discover new ways of relating. Less control, more connection. When that shift happens, it creates space for a sense of ease and growth — in your child, and in you.

If you’d like to explore how a fresh perspective on behaviour could bring more ease and harmony into your family life, please do get in touch to book a free discovery call.

For educators

Teaching can be hugely rewarding, but it can also bring its fair share of stress and frustration, especially when you’re working with pupils who are struggling. What is often called “challenging behaviour” is rarely just about the child. More often, it’s a sign that something in the system isn’t working, and both pupils and teachers can feel stuck in it.

At Wonderly, I help you to see pupils’ behaviour through a different lens. Not with the expectation that you can change the whole system, but by finding small, practical shifts you can make. Less fixing, more understanding. Less frustration, more genuine connection. When you start to see things differently, it becomes easier to act differently, right where your influence matters most.

About Me

My name is Lydia Lucas-Hüpscher. As a psychologist with an expat background, I’m used to navigating between different cultures, languages, and perspectives. My strengths lie in analytical thinking, sensitivity, creativity, and a love of learning. I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember — as a child I would often read five books at once, covering all sorts of topics. That curiosity, combined with my international experience, has given me broad general knowledge and a nuanced view of the world.

I specialise in supporting people who are, in one way or another, “wired a little differently” — or as I like to say, neurospicy. My clients often tell me I have a way of truly meeting them where they are, even when other forms of support haven’t worked in the past. I offer flexible support where it’s needed most: at home, in school, or in the workplace.

As someone with lived experience of autism and ADHD, I understand what it’s like to think and feel differently from the inside. And as a mother of two, I know first-hand how intense and challenging parenting can be — especially when neurodivergence adds extra sensitivity into the mix. I use labels like autism and ADHD mainly as a shared language. For parents, that language can be a way of seeing a child’s behaviour with less judgement and more understanding, creating space for connection and growth.

Practical information

Fees & Reimbursement

All services at Wonderly are, in principle, privately funded. This means you pay the costs yourself. The fees below include preparation and session notes. An initial phone consultation is free of charge.

  • Intake session (60-75 minutes): €250
  • Therapy session (50–60 minutes): €150
  • Couples therapy session (75–90 minutes): €225

School-based support: In some cases, funding for extra support (maatwerkarrangement) may be available through the school’s inclusive education support structure (samenwerkingsverband). This mainly applies when the support is aimed at improving a pupil’s functioning at school.

If you’d like to know whether this might be possible in your situation, please get in touch — I’ll be happy to explore the options with you.

This means, among other things, that:

  • Personal data is used solely for carrying out the treatment.
  • Information is only shared with third parties (such as your GP or school) with written consent.

Scope of Services

Wonderly provides treatment for mild to moderately complex support needs. The practice is not equipped for acute or intensive care, but is suitable for people who are sufficiently stable to work on their development within an outpatient setting.

This means that treatment is not possible for psychiatric conditions such as acute suicidality, psychosis, complex trauma, or severe personality disorders. Active addiction, extremly high-conflict divorces, or situations where 24/7 availability is required also fall outside the scope of Wonderly’s services.

In such cases, I am happy to help you consider a suitable referral so that the right care can be provided in the right place.
